Sara Navarro, the Executive Director for IEC El Paso, purchased Dakota Prep to help prepare her students for the Texas Electrical Journeyman Exam. Sara found Dakota Prep to be a user-friendly tool that apprentices could use in their own time while also being easy to integrate into their exam prep class.

What the students saying
The students we spoke to highlighted different ways that they used and benefited from Dakota Prep. A few examples of what the students told us can be found below.
Ramon used the app during his work lunch breaks, focusing on standard practice and reviewing answers through the Questions and Codebook modes. He found that the app made it easy for him to practice whenever he had the time and even told us he would not have studied on many of these occasions without the app.
Jacob found Dakota Prep to be very effective at showing him which areas he was struggling with the most. He particularly valued the clarity with which the app points out these areas, and how he could then take a tailored approach to addressing his learning gaps.
Ruben valued that the questions pushed him to better understand how to use the codebook time-effectively, and apply what he learned from the app in real work situations. Furthermore, the ability to review what he got wrong and learn from those mistakes increased his general understanding of the material and confidence when it comes to the exam.
On average, the students rated our question base 9/10. They found the questions to be challenging, engaging, and successful in helping them with the categories they struggled with (most often calculations and motors). Secondly, the ability for students to review wrong answers and see a score for how they are performing in each category enabled them to pinpoint and practice areas of difficulty. This alleviated their concerns about failing the exam and gave them a well needed knowledge and confidence boost.
